The Food Service Worker role at Aramark offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced kitchen environment. This position is instrumental in assisting the kitchen manager with food and meal preparation, maintaining cash receipts and meal records, and ensuring daily reports are completed accurately. The role demands a strong commitment to maintaining high standards in food production, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices. The Food Service Worker must also adhere to all food safety regulations, stove and equipment maintenance protocols, and uniform policies, reflecting Aramark’s dedication to quality and consistency in service.

In this capacity, the worker prepares quality food and baked goods according to planned menus, understands meal components inclusively, and ensures proper and sanitary food storage. Responsibilities include serving food according to meal schedules and departmental policies, caring for kitchen equipment, especially knives, and timely preparation of food items and beverages with added garnishments for customer satisfaction and visual appeal. The worker also participates in major cleaning duties of refrigerators, freezers, cooking, and serving equipment while maintaining cleanliness and organization in all work and storage areas. The position requires physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods, along with complying with uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) use.

Aramark expects the Food Service Worker to engage daily with the Manager to ensure accurate menu preparation and supervise food temperature requirements. The worker plays a pivotal role in creating a safe and balanced kitchen environment by following established cleanliness standards through duties such as sweeping, mopping, ware washing, and maintaining garbage collection sites. Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • Understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • Adhere to the uniform policy
  • Connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • Supervise the food temperature requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
  • Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • Handle physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or extended walking and standing
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) when required
