This is an on-call position with a flexible schedule where days and hours may vary, offering an hourly wage ranging from $19.50 to $20.00. The role involves preparing, presenting, and serving food to support patient and staff nourishment in this healthcare setting. Key responsibilities include food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, cutting, seeding fruits and vegetables, weighing and measuring ingredients, and carrying food items safely between work stations. Job Requirements
- One year of previous food service experience required
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods
- Must be able to work an on-call schedule with variable days and hours
- Ability to comply with all food safety standards and regulations
- Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and team members
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum one year of food service experience
- Knowledge of food preparation and safety procedures
- Ability to follow recipes and portion control standards
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients
- Understanding of sanitation and safety regulations
Job Duties
- Prepares, presents and serves food as needed
- Performs prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables
- Weighs and measures designated ingredients
- Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards
- Stores food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures
- Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils
- Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment
- Utilizes approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control
- Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service
- Resolves customer concerns and relays relevant information to supervisor
- Ensures compliance with company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures
- Assures compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements
- Performs other duties as assigned
