The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is a vital position that supports daily operations within food service environments. This role involves assisting management with food and meal preparation, maintaining accurate cash receipts and meal records, and helping complete essential daily reports. The Food Service Worker ensures high standards of food quality, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices are consistently met.

As a Food Service Worker, the individual will prepare quality food and baked goods based on planned menus and be responsible for serving food according to scheduled meal times, department policies, and procedures. This role also requires careful and sanitary storage of food items and proper use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives. The Food Service Worker must coordinate with the manager daily to understand and prepare the menu accurately.

In addition to food preparation and service, this position plays an important role in maintaining kitchen cleanliness and organization. Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing counters, steam tables, refrigerators, freezers, and other cooking and serving equipment. The role also involves performing sweeping, mopping, warewashing, and keeping the garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas sanitary. These cleaning duties help ensure a balanced and safe working environment.

The Food Service Worker must supervise food temperature requirements and add garnishments to meals to enhance customer satisfaction and the visual appeal of dishes. Physical demands of this role include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing. Use of personal protective equipment and adherence to uniform policies are also required.

Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • prepare a daily report that verifies transactions

  • adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • adhere to the uniform policy
  • connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • supervise the food temperature requirements
  • maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment including sweeping, moping, ware washing
  • maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • comply with physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking and standing
  • comply with uniform and personal protective equipment usage
