This hourly role, compensated at $17.00 per hour, involves assisting the manager with the preparation of meals and food items according to planned menus. This position requires meticulous attention to detail in food production, storage, and service practices to ensure customer satisfaction and adherence to all food safety regulations. The role also includes maintaining cash receipts and meal records, helping complete daily reports, and supervising kitchen cleanliness and equipment maintenance.
As a Food Service Worker, you will be responsible for preparing quality food and baked goods, understanding meal inclusions, and serving food in accordance with scheduled times and departmental policies. You'll interact directly with kitchen equipment, including knives, and add garnishments to enhance the appeal of dishes. There is also a strong focus on sanitation, with duties including regular cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, counters, and other kitchen equipment. You will support the manager by verifying transactions and coordinating cleaning efforts to maintain a safe and organized kitchen environment.
This role demands physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, and prolonged periods of standing or walking. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in food service or meal preparation preferred
- ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures
- good communication skills
- physical ability to perform required duties including lifting and standing for long periods
- willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment
- reliable and punctual
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties
- prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
- understand what is inclusive of a meal
- ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
- serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
- use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
- timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
- coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
- adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
- adhere to the uniform policy
- connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
- supervise the food temperature requirements
- maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
- scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
- follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
- maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
- perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
- handle physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or extended walking and standing
- use uniforms and/or personal protective equipment as required
