The role of Food Service Worker at Aramark is an essential position responsible for supporting kitchen operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality meals and services. As a Food Service Worker, you will be involved in the daily preparation of food items and baked goods according to planned menus. This includes understanding the components of meals, ensuring food storage is handled appropriately, and serving food according to schedule and departmental policies. Additionally, the position requires regular use and proper care of kitchen equipment, with particular attention to knives and other culinary tools. You will also help coordinate deep cleaning activities of kitchen appliances such as refrigerators and freezers, as well as the maintenance of a clean and organized workspace.

The job demands a hands-on approach with duties that encompass sanitation practices such as scrubbing and polishing counters, sanitizing steam tables, sweeping, mopping, and waste management. Physical demands of the role include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking and standing. Employees may be required to wear uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to maintain safety standards.

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • Understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • Adhere to the uniform policy
  • Connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • Supervise the food temperature requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
  • Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • Comply with physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing
  • Use of uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required
