The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is an essential position responsible for assisting the food service manager by preparing meals, maintaining accurate cash receipts and meal records, and contributing to the overall productivity and sanitation standards within the kitchen. This position requires an individual who is detail-oriented and committed to maintaining high standards in food quality, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices. The Food Service Worker is tasked with preparing a variety of meals and baked goods according to planned menus while ensuring that food is stored safely and served according to the set schedules. This role also involves preparing daily reports, managing kitchen equipment, and adhering strictly to food safety regulations to provide excellent service to customers.

In addition to food preparation, the worker must also contribute to general kitchen maintenance, including cleaning and organizing workstations, sanitizing equipment, and managing waste disposal. The role may require physical activity such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing. Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and compliance with uniform policies are also necessary components of this job. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food service certificate as needed
  • Prior experience in food preparation or a related field preferred
  • Ability to follow food safety guidelines and sanitation procedures
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Physical ability to perform duties involving lifting, bending, pushing, and standing for extended periods
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Job Qualifications

  • Food service certificate as needed
  • Sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Be able to work quickly and concisely under pressure

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • Understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • Adhere to the uniform policy
  • Connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • Supervise the food temperature requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
  • Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • This role may have physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
  • This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
