The Food Service Worker position at Aramark is an essential role within the company’s food service operations. This role involves assisting the manager in food and meal preparation, maintaining cash receipts and meal records, and supporting the completion of daily reports. The Food Service Worker plays a critical part in upholding the highest standards of quality in food production, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices. Responsibility for food storage, serving meals according to schedules and departmental policies, and the use and care of kitchen equipment are key aspects of the role. This position also includes maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen and storage areas, adhering to food safety regulations, and ensuring a sanitary and safe working environment.

Further, the Food Service Worker must coordinate and assist in major cleaning tasks, including refrigerators, freezers, and cooking equipment. The role requires working closely with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare the menu, supervise food temperature requirements, and add garnishments for improved customer satisfaction. The position may feature physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking. Uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage may be required for this role. Working efficiently under pressure while maintaining quick and precise food preparation is essential. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in food service is preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Food service certificate as needed
  • sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • ability to work quickly and concisely under pressure

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • adhere to the uniform policy
  • connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • supervise the food temperature requirements
  • maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness to ensure a balanced and safe environment
  • maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • handle physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or extended walking and standing
  • use personal protective equipment as required
