The Food Service Worker position at Aramark plays an essential role in supporting the food service operations within the organization. Reporting directly to the manager, this role involves assisting with food and meal preparation, maintaining accurate cash receipts and meal records, and supporting the manager with completing daily reports. The Food Service Worker is responsible for ensuring the production of high-quality food items while upholding stringent standards of kitchen safety, sanitation, and food quality.

This role requires the Food Service Worker to prepare various foods and baked goods according to the planned menu, ensuring timely and efficient preparation. They are also responsible for understanding meal components, proper storage of food items, and serving meals according to schedule and departmental policies. The position involves daily coordination with the manager to understand menu plans and accurately prepare meals.

Additional responsibilities include maintaining kitchen equipment cleanliness, adhering to all applicable food safety regulations related to sanitation, food handling, and storage, and ensuring that food temperature requirements are supervised properly. The role demands maintaining a clean and organized work environment including the cleaning of counters, steam tables, refrigerators, and freezers. Physical demands are part of the job, which may include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing. Personal protective equipment (PPE) and uniforms may be required for safety and compliance.

The Food Service Worker must possess food service certifications when applicable, have sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions, and demonstrate the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • Understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • Adhere to the uniform policy
  • Connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • Supervise the food temperature requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, including sweeping, mopping, and ware washing
  • Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • Meet physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking and standing, and usage of personal protective equipment when required
