The Food Service Worker position at Aramark is an essential role that supports the day-to-day operations of food service locations. This role entails assisting the manager with food and meal preparation ensuring high standards of quality, sanitation, and safety are always followed. The hourly compensation rate for this position is $17.50, reflecting Aramark’s fair market estimate for this role at the time of posting. In this role, the Food Service Worker will prepare quality food and baked goods in line with planned menus and verify daily transactions through detailed reports. They will be integral in maintaining food storage and kitchen cleanliness according to strict food safety regulations. This includes the cleaning and sanitation of equipment, counters, refrigerators, and floors to ensure a safe and balanced working environment. The Food Service Worker will also engage in food service tasks such as understanding meal inclusions, serving food per schedule and policies, and garnishing dishes to enhance customer satisfaction and presentation.
The role requires a proactive approach to kitchen safety, including the proper use and care of kitchen equipment like knives and adherence to uniform policies as well as personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements. Physical demands of the role include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking or standing, which are vital to handling the dynamic nature of a food service environment. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in food service preferred
- ability to maintain sanitation and safety standards
- ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods
- excellent communication skills
- ability to follow instructions carefully

Job Qualifications
- Food service certificate as needed
- sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
- be able to work quickly and concisely under pressure
Job Duties
- Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
- understand what is inclusive of a meal
- ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
- serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
- use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
- timely preparation of a variety of food items and beverages
- add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
- coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
- adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
- adhere to the uniform policy
- connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
- supervise the food temperature requirements
- maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
- scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
- follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, including sweeping, mopping, ware washing
- maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
- perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
- meet physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking and standing
- wear uniforms and use personal protective equipment where required
