The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is designed for individuals passionate about food preparation and customer service. This position involves assisting with food prep, portioning meals, and serving customers with a positive attitude and a strong sense of accountability. As a Food Service Worker, you will work closely with the management team to ensure all food items are prepared according to recipes and quality standards, maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, and uphold safety protocols within the kitchen and serving areas. The role requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions while working effectively as part of a team.

In this role, you will lead and assist in all aspects of food preparation including dating products, setting up and breaking down stations, accurately portioning food items, and maintaining temperature logs. You will be responsible for sampling food items to ensure they meet quality expectations before service and for handling customer interactions with courtesy and care. Additionally, this position requires maintaining a clean and safe work environment by regularly cleaning equipment, work areas, and disposing of waste properly.

The Food Service Worker must be physically capable of performing tasks such as frequent lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods, often in environments involving heated equipment, steam, and potential exposure to chemicals. This position offers an opportunity to develop leadership skills by advising and guiding other employees on the service line and cross-training in various food service areas including concessions, catering, and special events.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • ServeSafe certification required
  • Previous food service experience preferred
  • Ability to lift heavy items frequently
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Must be able to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Willingness to wear uniforms and use personal protective equipment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Lead all aspects of and assist in preparation of food items for the day and dating products
  • Coordinate and assist in setting up and breaking down stations designated by the manager
  • Cook and otherwise prepare foods according to recipes and directions
  • Responsible for use of accurate portions when preparing and serving items on the line
  • Maintain daily temperature logs
  • Responsible for taking samples of all food items on the line prior to serving the customers
  • Alert management and pull food items that do not meet quality expectations
  • Complete opening and closing station checklists
  • Greet customers as they approach and leave the serving line
  • Ask customers about the quality of their service and handle any complaints while maintaining a positive attitude and smile
  • Coordinate and assist in maintaining a clean work station including floors, work areas, equipment, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks
  • Ensure that all work areas and serving utensils are cleaned and sanitized
  • Responsible for accurate disposal of waste from the service line
  • Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or by cart
  • Assist with daily safety observations and report safety hazards discovered in the location to management immediately
  • Cross-train in areas as the need arises
  • Able to work in concessions, catering, and special events required by your manager
  • Perform task as requested by your manager on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis
  • Completion of any task requested by a supervisor or member of the Aramark management team
  • Lead all aspects of and advise the employees working on the line to ensure timely and effective service of the customers
  • Request support from utility workers for sanitation issues of the line as needed
