The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is an essential position responsible for supporting the management team in various food service operations. This role includes assisting with food and meal preparation, maintaining accurate cash receipts and meal records, and helping the manager in completing daily reports. The Food Service Worker ensures that all food production is conducted with the highest standards of quality, sanitation, and kitchen safety. This position is hourly with a competitive pay rate of $25.00 per hour.
In this role, the Food Service Worker is tasked with preparing quality food and baked goods according to planned menus, managing food storage to comply with sanitary standards, and serving food within established meal schedules and department policies. The individual will work closely with kitchen equipment, maintaining its care, especially focusing on the use of knives and other utensils essential to food preparation. Another critical responsibility is coordinating deep cleaning efforts for refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment to ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary environment.
Beyond food preparation, the Food Service Worker is accountable for maintaining a clean and organized work and storage area, scrubbing and polishing counters, sanitizing steam tables and other equipment, and following established procedures for cleanliness such as sweeping, mopping, and ware washing. Other responsibilities encompass timely meal preparation, adding garnishments for customer satisfaction and presentation, and supervising food temperature requirements to comply with safety standards.
The role demands physical activity including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking and standing. Employees must also adhere to uniform policies and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary. The Food Service Worker position requires the ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure and demonstrates strong communication skills to understand menu requirements and instructions from the manager.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Food service experience preferred
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Good communication skills

Job Qualifications
- Food service certificate as needed
- Sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions

Job Duties
- Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
- Understand what is inclusive of a meal
- Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
- Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
- Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
- Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages
- Add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
- Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
- Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
- Adhere to the uniform policy
- Connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare the menu for the day
- Supervise the food temperature requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
- Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
- Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, including sweeping, mopping, and ware washing
- Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
- Perform other duties as assigned including in other kitchen areas
- Handle physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing
