The Food Service Worker role at Aramark offers a dynamic and hands-on position critical to supporting food preparation and service within the company's food service operations. This hourly position ranges between $14.00 to $14.50 per hour, reflecting Aramark’s commitment to fair and competitive compensation, subject to location and other factors. The Food Service Worker is essential in upholding high standards for food quality, safety, sanitation, and kitchen operations. Responsibilities include assisting the manager with food and meal preparation, maintaining accurate cash receipts and meal records, and completing daily reports to ensure smooth operational flow.

This role requires a strong attention to detail to maintain food safety regulations and sanitation standards while operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. The Food Service Worker will also support the preparation of daily menus, assist in major kitchen cleaning tasks, and ensure the proper storage and handling of food items. Physical demands of the role include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking. Compliance with uniform policies and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) are standard requirements.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in food service preferred
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • basic math skills for cash handling
  • willingness to comply with uniform and safety policies
  • physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • good communication skills

  • food service certificate as needed
  • sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • ability to work quickly and concisely under pressure

Job Duties

  • prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages
  • add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • adhere to the uniform policy
  • connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • supervise the food temperature requirements
  • maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness to ensure a balanced and safe environment
  • maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • meet physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
  • comply with uniforms and usage of personal protective equipment
