The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is an integral position responsible for assisting the manager in food and meal preparation while maintaining cash receipts and meal records. This role demands a high standard of quality and efficiency in food production, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices. The Food Service Worker will be actively engaged in preparing quality food and baked goods according to planned menus and ensuring accurate and sanitary storage of food to meet safety regulations. Daily responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of reports that verify transactions, coordinating meal service according to schedules, and adhering to department policies for a smooth and efficient operation.
In addition to food preparation, the Food Service Worker plays a critical role in maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen and storage areas. This includes scrubbing and polishing counters, cleaning and sanitizing steam tables and other equipment, and ensuring compliance with established procedures for hygiene and safety. The role requires physical activity such as lifting, bending, and extended periods of standing, alongside the proper use of kitchen equipment with special attention to safety, including the use of personal protective equipment when necessary.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in food service or a related field preferred
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety standards
- ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks
- excellent communication and teamwork skills
- willingness to comply with company uniform and safety policies
Job Qualifications
- Food Service Certificate as needed
- sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
- be able to work quickly and concisely under pressure
Job Duties
- Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
- understand what is inclusive of a meal
- ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
- serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
- use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
- timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
- coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
- adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
- adhere to the uniform policy
- connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
- supervise the food temperature requirements
- maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
- scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
- follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
- maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
- perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
- comply with physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing
- use uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment as needed
