Job Requirements

  • High school diploma preferred but not always required
  • Prior food service or hospitality experience is beneficial
  • Must have a valid Food Handlers Card
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Must be responsible and trustworthy
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs with assistance
  • Must be flexible to work various shifts including weekends, holidays and evenings
  • Ability to work in outdoor and indoor settings
  • Age 19 or older for roles involving alcohol service

Job Duties

  • Taking customers' food and drink orders
  • Collaborating with kitchen and bar staff for prompt and correct delivery of orders
  • Memorizing the menu and recommending appetizers, meals and drinks from restaurant wine stock
  • Delivering a memorable dining experience by resolving all customer issues promptly
  • Serving patrons with food and beverages in a positive and friendly manner
  • Providing information to help food and beverage selections
  • Presenting ordered choices in a prompt and efficient manner
  • Maintaining dining ambiance with an enthusiastic attitude
  • Preparing room for dining by setting tables and decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates and utensils
  • Cleaning and resetting tables, replenishing supplies, refilling glasses and solving customer complaints
  • Removing used plates, glasses, cutlery and napkins from tables after dining
  • Wiping up water spills, food stains and dirt from tables
  • Straightening or replacing tablecloths
  • Replacing cutlery and glassware for new diners
  • Refilling paper napkins, salt and pepper shakers and other condiments
  • Providing support and completing janitorial tasks in food service work areas
  • Preparing alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons at special events
  • Interacting with customers, taking orders and serving snacks and drinks at special events
  • Assessing customers' needs and preferences and making recommendations
  • Mixing ingredients to prepare cocktails
  • Planning and presenting bar menu
  • Checking customers' identification to confirm legal drinking age
  • Restocking and replenishing bar inventory and supplies
  • Staying guest focused and nurturing an excellent guest experience
  • Complying with all food and beverage regulations
