The Food Service Worker position at Aramark is an hourly role with a competitive salary range between $18.00 to $22.00 per hour. This role involves assisting management with food and meal preparation activities, maintaining cash receipts and meal records, and helping complete daily operational reports. The Food Service Worker plays an essential role in upholding high standards of quality in food production, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices. Key responsibilities include preparing quality food and baked goods according to planned menus, understanding meal components, ensuring proper food storage in sanitary conditions, and serving food according to department policies and schedules.

In this position, the Food Service Worker will also be tasked with the use and care of kitchen equipment, particularly knives, as well as adding garnishments to food items for customer satisfaction and aesthetic appeal. They will coordinate and assist in major cleaning efforts of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment, ensuring compliance with all food safety regulations. Maintaining a clean, organized kitchen environment and storing food properly are critical to this role, as well as adhering to the uniform policy and food temperature supervision.

Physical demands associated with this job include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking and standing. Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is also required to maintain safety standards. This employee will work closely with the manager daily to ensure menus are prepared accurately and that meal preparation aligns with established standards.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior food service experience is preferred
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • Food Service Certificate as needed
  • sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • be able to work quickly and concisely under pressure

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • adhere to the uniform policy
  • connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • supervise the food temperature requirements
  • maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
  • maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • handle physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
