The Food Service Worker II role at Texas Health Arlington Memorial is a vital position within the hospital’s food service department, which operates in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment focused on delivering exceptional patient care. As a member of this detail-oriented team, the Food Service Worker II is responsible for serving approximately 120 meals each day, prioritizing patient excellence through courteous and gracious service. This full-time position involves working rotating shifts to support the dynamic needs of the hospital’s patient population. Duties include serving food on cafeteria and patient tray lines, assembling and delivering patient trays, and maintaining accurate documentation of food delivery times and food tallies. The worker also performs basic food preparation tasks, such as preparing salads and portioning foods, along with thorough cleaning and sanitizing of kitchen equipment, dishes, and work areas to meet strict health and safety standards. The role requires compliance with HACCP sanitation guidelines, proper food labeling and dating, and adherence to OSHA safety protocols to ensure safe food handling practices are maintained. Additionally, the Food Service Worker II is expected to assist in stock management using the FIFO system, contribute to the upkeep of clean and safe work environments, and follow department procedures for disposing of waste and maintaining personal hygiene. Job Requirements

- Previous food service experience in a hospital setting preferred
- Food Handlers Certificate within 30 days required
- Ability to read, perform basic math, and communicate in written English

Job Duties
- Serves food on the cafeteria and patient tray lines, utilizing good customer skills when serving patrons
- Assembles, delivers and retrieves patient trays
- Documents food delivery times and food tallies
- performs other simple record keeping such as temperature checks on equipment and food
- Reports variances from standards to supervisor
- Performs simple food assembly such as preparing salads, portioning and garnishing foods according to instruction
- Cleans and sanitizes equipment, wares, walls, and floors routinely
- Washes and sanitizes dishes, pots and pans as well as all cooking utensils and cooking equipment according to department standards and procedures
- Labels and dates foods according to HACCP standards and follows safe food handling practices
- Collects and delivers floor stock utilizing FIFO
- Delivers between meal nourishments and late trays according to departmental standards
- Maintains assigned areas and equipment in a safe, clean, neat, and orderly manner to meet or exceed sanitation standards
- Disposes of trash and garbage according to standards and procedures
- Performs other job duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager
