The Food Services Department at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital plays a crucial role in supporting patient health and recovery by providing nutritious and appealing meal options tailored to meet various dietary needs. The hospital is currently seeking a Food Service Worker to join this vital team on a full-time basis. This role involves working 40 hours per week, typically 8 hours a day, with rotating shifts covering both day and evening hours (between 6 am and 8:30 pm) and every other weekend. Qualified candidates may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $1,000.

As a Food Service Worker, you will be an essential member of the food services team, responsible for assisting in meal preparation, delivery, and customer service activities. This position requires delivering nutritious meals to patients, staff, and visitors while ensuring adherence to dietary guidelines, safety standards, and customer preferences. Your role also includes preparing and assembling food items, maintaining clean and sanitary conditions in the kitchen and dining areas, assisting with dishwashing, operating as a cashier, and addressing utility needs related to the food services department.
