Job Description

The position offered is a part-time evening role performing essential general kitchen duties within the hospital's food service department. This role is integral in supporting both patient and visitor dining needs by preparing and serving snacks and meals that adhere to strict departmental policies and established recipes. Individuals stepping into this role will engage in a variety of tasks including food preparation and storage, cleaning, and maintaining the hygiene of the kitchen environment by handling sanitation of dishes, utensils, pots, and other kitchen implements. Additionally, the role requires collaboration across multiple service areas within the department including tray line operations, cafeteria support, dish room duties, host or hostess services, and catering assistance. Emphasis is placed on effective communication and competent job performance to foster teamwork and achieve operational functionality.

Employees in this position must comply with all local, state, and federal regulations concerning patient privacy and safety standards to ensure optimal patient care. The role offers a weekly commitment of 20.5 hours, scheduled primarily on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday evenings, and includes weekend work on Saturday and Sunday. The pay range for this position is between $30.14 and $36.16 per hour, reflecting several factors including experience, education, and geographic location. Job Requirements

  • hs diploma or general education diploma (ged)
  • ability to perform basic food production and food service tasks
  • knowledge of proper cleaning procedures and safe food handling
  • ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions

  • ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or general education diploma (ged)
  • basic knowledge of food production and food service supplies and equipment
  • knowledge of maintaining safe food environments including proper cleaning procedures
  • ability to read, write and speak English
  • sufficient mathematical ability for measurement and portioning
  • ability to meet deadlines and multitask
  • strong customer service skills
  • knowledge of patient privacy (phi)
