The Food Service Worker I position at the Medical Center North Liberty Food and Nutrition department plays an essential role in supporting the nutritional needs of patients and visitors by performing various food preparation and service tasks under direct supervision. This is an hourly, full-time role offering a competitive wage ranging from $17.66 per hour, with shifts scheduled as five 8-hour shifts weekly from 12 pm to 8:30 pm including rotating weekends. The position is vital in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the food service unit, helping to maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and customer service. Duties include opening and measuring ingredients, assisting food preparation such as cutting and slicing, assembling salads, simple cooking tasks, setting up and replenishing food stations, serving meals, cleaning, and minor maintenance of equipment. The Food Service Worker I also participates in meal ticket handling and the training of students and new employees.
