The Food Service Worker position at Aramark is designed for individuals who are eager to work in a fast-paced food preparation environment and contribute to maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and sanitation. This role involves assisting the manager with preparing meals and food items according to planned menus, while adhering strictly to food safety regulations and kitchen safety practices. Beyond food preparation, the Food Service Worker is responsible for maintaining accurate records such as cash receipts and daily meal reports, which help in verifying transactions and supporting smooth operational flow. This position requires close coordination with the manager to understand daily menus and expectations, ensuring timely and quality service.
Key responsibilities extend to monitoring food storage to guarantee sanitary conditions, ensuring food is served on schedule, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in both the preparation and storage areas of the kitchen. The role involves routine cleaning and sanitation tasks including deep cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, steam tables, and other kitchen equipment. Hands-on work with kitchen tools, particularly knives, is a routine part of the job, alongside proper care and handling of all kitchen equipment. Employees in this role must be able to handle the physical demands of the position, which include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing. Safety also plays a critical role, with strict adherence to uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) policies.

Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in food service preferred
- ability to handle physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and prolonged standing
- knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen sanitation practices
- excellent communication and teamwork skills
- availability to work flexible hours
- willingness to comply with uniform and personal protective equipment policies
Job Qualifications
- food service certificate as needed
- sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
- be able to work quickly and concisely under pressure
Job Duties
- prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
- understand what is inclusive of a meal
- ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
- serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
- use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
- timely preparation of a variety of food items
- add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
- coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
- adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
- adhere to the uniform policy
- connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
- supervise the food temperature requirements
- maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
- scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
- follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
- maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
- perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
- fulfill physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
- comply with uniform and usage of personal protective equipment (PPE)
