Their vision centers around improving lives with every meal served, fostering inclusive environments, and promoting health and wellness through comprehensive food and nutrition programs.
Specifically, Flik Independent School Dining (FISD), a division of Compass Group, has been pioneering the transformation of private and independent school foodservice for over 40 years, catering to more than 300 communities. FISD’s philosophy extends beyond food—they focus on nourishing the whole person and creating community through great food and comprehensive programming. Their approach combines nutrition education with sustainable culinary practices, empowering students to make smart, healthy choices to lead thriving lives.
Currently, FISD is hiring for full-time and part-time Food Service Worker positions located at Stevenson School in Pebble Beach, California. This role plays a crucial part in the daily operations of the school dining environment, contributing to a high-quality foodservice experience for students and staff. Working under structured safety and sanitation guidelines, Food Service Workers are responsible for preparing, presenting, and serving food that meets company standards and promotes health and wellness.
The position offers competitive hourly wages ranging from $18.85 to $21.00 based on experience and qualifications. Candidates who hold a ServSafe certification will find this role well suited to their skills, as food safety and proper handling are paramount. In addition to monetary compensation, the job provides benefits including free meals, uniforms with laundering services at select locations, and various wellness and voluntary benefits programs. Both full-time and part-time schedules are available, with shifts that vary between day and evening from Monday through Sunday, offering flexibility to accommodate various availability needs.
As Food Service Workers, employees engage in tasks including preparing ingredients by washing, peeling, and cutting fruits and vegetables, measuring components, safely transporting food items, maintaining cleanliness of work areas and utensils, and adhering to prescribed food safety and portion control standards. The role also involves delivering friendly, efficient service, resolving customer concerns, following cash control procedures, and ensuring compliance with sanitation and safety requirements. The company values diversity and inclusion, welcoming applicants from all backgrounds, and complies with all fair chance hiring ordinances.
Working at FISD means joining a passionate team dedicated to excellence and innovation in school dining. Employees are supported with comprehensive benefits such as retirement plans, health and wellness programs, identity theft protection, and more. Full-time staff are also eligible for medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, commuter benefits, and an employee assistance program. Additionally, opportunities for paid and unpaid time off align with federal and state laws, ensuring a balanced and supportive work environment.
This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about foodservice, eager to contribute to the well-being of young learners, and committed to upholding high standards of safety and quality. From day-to-day food preparation to customer service, Food Service Workers at Stevenson School help nourish a brighter future by creating positive, healthy dining experiences that impact students' lives for the better.
