Food Service Workers support the team by performing food prep duties including washing, peeling, cutting, and measuring ingredients, ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are met at all times. The position requires handling food ingredients and equipment safely, adhering to recipes and production guidelines, and maintaining clean and organized workspaces. Additionally, Food Service Workers provide friendly and efficient customer service, effectively communicating customer concerns to supervisors, and collaborating as part of a dynamic campus dining team dedicated to excellence and service. Job Requirements

  • Ability to work full time, Monday through Friday, with variable shifts
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and carrying food items and equipment
  • Ability to comply with food safety and sanitation standards
  • Capability to handle customer service responsibilities in a friendly and efficient manner
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Willingness to undergo background screening if required
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in food service or related customer-facing roles preferred
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to follow recipes and production standards accurately
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Willingness to learn and adapt
  • Barista experience is a plus

Job Duties

  • Performs prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables
  • Weighs and measures designated ingredients
  • Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards
  • Stores food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures
  • Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils
  • Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment
  • Utilizes approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control
  • Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service
  • Resolves customer concerns and relays relevant information to supervisor
  • Ensures compliance with company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures
  • Assures compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements
  • Performs other duties as assigned
