We are currently hiring both full-time and part-time Food Service Workers to join our dynamic team at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital. This role is vital in supporting the hospital's mission by preparing and serving nutritious meals that meet the needs of patients, visitors, and staff. The Food Service Worker position is scheduled Monday through Friday, from 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with more detailed scheduling information provided during the interview process. Pay ranges from $15.00 to $15.50 per hour, reflecting the importance of this role within the healthcare environment.

As a Food Service Worker, you will perform essential food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables, weighing and measuring ingredients, and transporting food items safely within the kitchen environment. Your responsibilities also include maintaining proper food storage with adherence to hygiene, safety, and rotation standards, ensuring the work areas and equipment are clean and sanitized, and distributing utensils and equipment efficiently. Using approved recipes and production standards, you will ensure meals are prepared with high quality, served at the correct temperatures, and portions are consistent.

Customer service is a crucial part of this role; you will be expected to interact with customers in a friendly and efficient manner, addressing any concerns promptly and escalating important information to supervisors. Compliance with company service standards, sanitation requirements, safety protocols, inventory control, and cash handling procedures is essential for maintaining the overall quality and safety of food service within the hospital.

Job Duties

  • stores food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures
  • cleans work areas, equipment and utensils
  • distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment
  • utilizes approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control
  • serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service
  • resolves customer concerns and relays relevant information to supervisor
  • ensures compliance with company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures
  • assures compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements
  • performs other duties as assigned
