The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is designed for individuals who are passionate about food preparation, quality, and safety. This position involves assisting the manager with meal preparation and maintaining accurate cash receipts and meal records. Food Service Workers will play a critical role in upholding high standards in food production while ensuring sanitary kitchen and storage conditions. Key responsibilities for the Food Service Worker include preparing quality food items and baked goods according to planned menus, managing daily reports to verify transactions, and ensuring all meals meet established nutritional and portion standards. Candidates need to understand the components of meals served and adhere strictly to food safety regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and kitchen sanitation. The role also involves the use and proper care of kitchen equipment, including knives, and the coordination of major cleaning tasks for refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment.

This position calls for someone who can work quickly and efficiently under pressure, maintain a clean and organized work environment, and contribute to an overall positive customer experience by adding appealing garnishments and serving food in accordance with schedules and company policies. Physically, the role may require standing for extended periods, lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling, as well as the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and uniforms. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in food service preferred
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety
  • physical ability to perform demanding tasks including lifting and prolonged standing
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to follow procedures and policies
  • willingness to wear required uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Job Qualifications

  • Food Service Certificate as needed
  • sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • be able to work quickly and concisely under pressure

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • adhere to the uniform policy
  • connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • supervise the food temperature requirements
  • maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment including sweeping, mopping, ware washing
  • maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • handle physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking and standing
  • wear uniforms and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
