The Food Service Worker role at Aramark offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about food preparation, kitchen safety, and customer service. The role primarily involves assisting the manager with food and meal preparation, maintaining accurate cash receipts and meal records, and completing daily reports. Food Service Workers at Aramark are tasked with preparing quality food and baked goods according to planned menus and serving food according to meal schedules, department policies, and procedures. The role requires understanding the components of meals, ensuring proper and sanitary food storage, and the use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives. Beyond food preparation, the position includes maintaining cleanliness by coordinating major cleanings of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment. Workers must adhere strictly to uniform policies and safety standards while maintaining cleaning and sanitation of work and storage areas, counters, steam tables, garbage collection, and kitchen floors.

This position involves physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior experience in food service or kitchen operations helpful
  • ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures
  • willingness to perform physical tasks such as lifting and standing for extended periods
  • ability to communicate effectively with team members and management
  • availability to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, or weekends
  • adherence to uniform and personal protective equipment policies

Job Qualifications

  • Food Service Certificate as needed
  • sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • ability to work quickly and concisely under pressure

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • timely preparation of a variety of food items and beverages
  • add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • adhere to the uniform policy
  • connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • supervise the food temperature requirements
  • maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
  • maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • comply with physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
  • wear uniforms and/or use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
