Supported by philanthropy and driven by a faith-based mission rooted in medical excellence, Baptist Health has demonstrated a consistent commitment to delivering exceptional health services to the diverse communities it serves.
The organization prides itself on its people-oriented culture, fostering a working environment where meaningful connections extend beyond professional boundaries to personal relationships with patients and their families. This empathetic approach stems from shared experiences among staff and patients, fueling a dedicated spirit of compassion and quality care throughout the system. The current opening is for a patient meal service role that plays an essential part in ensuring quality nutrition and patient satisfaction. This position involves preparing, assembling, and delivering meals to patients following established quality, service, infection control, and food safety standards. In addition to direct meal service, responsibilities include replenishing food supplies on patient floors, handling guest services with a positive customer relations approach, and performing necessary sanitation duties such as dishroom tasks. The role also encompasses food service transactions, including cash handling for cafeteria and catering services, and setting up meals for various hospital dining outlets including corporate retail and the Doctors Dining Room.
This job represents much more than food service; it helps maintain the safety, comfort, and overall positive experience of patients, guests, and staff within the Baptist Health system. The role is critical in facilitating efficient meal distribution while supporting the hospital’s commitment to high-quality food preparation and customer care. Compensation for this role is estimated between $16.00 and $18.38 per hour, depending on prior experience, and reflects Baptist Health's dedication to fair and competitive employment practices.
Baptist Health offers substantial professional development and wellness benefits designed to support employees both professionally and personally. Opportunities for career advancement are clearly communicated with ongoing support for continuous learning. Health and wellness resources go beyond traditional benefits with programs that can reduce out-of-pocket healthcare costs and provide tuition reimbursement to encourage further education. These benefits, among others, affirm Baptist Health’s commitment to fostering a supportive work environment where team members can thrive and deliver exceptional care consistently.
Joining Baptist Health in this role means becoming part of a value-driven, compassionate team focused on making a positive impact every day. The comprehensive support structure and inclusive culture of Baptist Health empower employees to succeed and grow as they contribute meaningfully to the health and well-being of their communities.
