This specific role focuses on food service operations within the healthcare setting. The position involves preparing, assembling, and delivering patient meals in accordance with strict quality, service, infection control, and food safety standards. The employee will be responsible for maintaining stock supplies in patient floor kitchens, serving guests while maintaining positive customer relations, replenishing used foods and supplies, and completing sanitation duties. Additional responsibilities include performing dish room duties, collecting payments for guest trays, and handling transactions in the cafeteria as a cashier, following established policies and procedures.

Serving various dining outlets such as corporate retail, catering, and the Doctors Dining Room is also an integral part of the role, including setting up and decorating buffet and reception tables as assigned. This multifaceted role contributes directly to the safety, comfort, and overall satisfaction of patients and guests. The estimated pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.38 per hour, depending on experience. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, certificate, GED, training or experience required
  • Food safety certification required within 90 days of job entry
  • Excellent customer service skills required
  • Proven excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Less than 1 year of experience

Job Duties

  • Prepare, assemble and deliver patient meals in accordance with quality, service, infection control, and food safety standards
  • Delivers stock supplies to the patient floor kitchens
  • Serves guests, maintaining positive customer/guest relations
  • Appropriately replenishes used foods and supplies
  • Completes sanitation duties
  • Perform dish room duties as assigned, daily
  • Collects payments for guest trays
  • Handles transactions for food sales in the cafeteria as a cashier, in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Sets up and serves meals for corporate retail, catering, Doctors Dining Room, and other dining outlets
  • Decorates buffet and reception tables as assigned
