The organization's vast network of programs and services is designed to support vulnerable populations including veterans, families, and individuals facing homelessness or challenges related to mental health and addiction. VOAOHIN stands out as a beacon of hope and recovery, fostering a culture of care, respect, and empowerment within the communities it serves.
The role of Assistant Food Service Worker is an essential position within VOAOHIN that directly supports the organization's mission by ensuring veterans residing in its facilities receive nutritious and well-prepared meals. The assistant will be responsible not only for meal service but also for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the kitchen and cafeteria areas, ensuring compliance with health and sanitation standards. The role calls for an energetic, self-motivated, and dynamic professional who can work efficiently in a team-oriented environment and adapt to the fast-paced demands of food service within a service-driven nonprofit context.
Preferred candidates will possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have at least two years of experience in the food service industry. Experience supervising staff is a plus, as some leadership or oversight duties may be required. Applicants should be adept at managing inventory, maintaining cleanliness protocols, and ensuring food quality and safety standards are consistently met. Veterans are particularly encouraged to apply, reflecting VOAOHIN's deep respect and commitment to those who have served. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause while honing skills in food service operations at a respected nonprofit organization.
