The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is an essential position responsible for assisting the manager with the preparation of food and meals while maintaining accurate cash receipts and meal records. This role demands a strong commitment to food safety, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices to maintain high standards in all food production tasks. The Food Service Worker works closely with kitchen management to ensure all food served aligns with the daily planned menu and meets customer satisfaction through presentation and quality. Key responsibilities also include preparing daily transaction reports, storage of food in a sanitary manner, and ensuring timely service according to established meal schedules and departmental policies. This position requires usage and care of kitchen equipment, including proper handling of knives, and assistance with major cleaning tasks such as refrigerators, freezers, and various cooking and serving equipment.
In addition to food preparation and service, the Food Service Worker ensures the maintenance of cleanliness and orderliness within the kitchen and associated storage areas. Duties such as polishing counters, sanitizing equipment, sweeping, mopping, and waste management contribute to creating a balanced and safe kitchen environment. The role may also involve physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking. Job Duties
- Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
- understand what is inclusive of a meal
- ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
- serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
- use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
- timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
- coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
- adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
- adhere to the uniform policy
- connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
- supervise the food temperature requirements
- maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
- scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
- follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
- maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
- perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
- manage physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking and standing
- comply with uniform and personal protective equipment policies
