The role of Food Service Worker at Aramark is integral to maintaining high standards of quality in food production, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices. This position requires assisting the manager with food and meal preparation, maintaining cash receipts and meal records, and supporting the completion of daily reports. The Food Service Worker is responsible for preparing quality food and baked goods according to planned menus, serving food according to schedules and department policies, and ensuring proper storage and sanitation of food items. The role requires proficiency in using and caring for kitchen equipment, including knives, and being capable of preparing a variety of food items and beverages in a timely manner.

Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the work and storage areas is a key responsibility, which includes scrubbing and polishing counters, sanitizing steam tables, and managing garbage collection areas to uphold sanitary standards. The Food Service Worker must adhere strictly to food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage while also following uniform policies and collaborating closely with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare the day’s menu. This position may involve physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking, or standing, and the use of personal protective equipment may be required. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in food service or kitchen environment is beneficial
  • Ability to maintain high standards of hygiene and sanitation
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks required for the role
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team and take direction from management
  • Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Food Service Certificate as needed
  • Sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to work quickly and concisely under pressure

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • Understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments
  • Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • Adhere to the uniform policy
  • Connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • Supervise the food temperature requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, duties include sweeping, mopping, ware washing
  • Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • Handle physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and extended walking and standing
  • Use required uniforms and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
