The Food Service Worker role at Aramark plays an essential part in maintaining the high food quality, sanitation, and kitchen safety standards that Aramark is known for. The Food Service Worker assists the manager in food and meal preparation, cash receipts management, meal record keeping, and for completing daily reports. In this role, the Food Service Worker is responsible for preparing quality food and baked goods according to planned menus, ensuring the storage of food is accurate and sanitary, serving food on schedule according to department policies, and properly using and caring for kitchen equipment such as knives. The position requires close coordination with management to accurately prepare daily menus, maintain food temperature standards, and uphold all food safety regulations. The worker is also tasked with maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and storage areas, including tasks like scrubbing counters, polishing equipment, cleaning steam tables, and maintaining garbage collection sites. In addition, the role includes periodic heavy cleaning duties such as refrigerating and freezer cleaning.
This role involves physical activity that may require lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking or standing. Personal protective equipment and compliance with uniform policies are required. The Food Service Worker must work efficiently under pressure, communicate effectively, and uphold Aramark’s commitment to safety, quality, and service excellence. Job Duties
- Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
- Understand what is inclusive of a meal
- Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
- Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
- Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
- Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
- Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
- Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
- Adhere to the uniform policy
- Connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
- Supervise the food temperature requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
- Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
- Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
- Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
- Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
- This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
- This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
