This particular role involves supporting the operations of Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC) and Loma Linda University Children's Hospital (LLUCH), two distinguished hospitals within the network known for their dedication to providing outstanding patient care and cutting-edge medical services. As a food service worker, the employee directly contributes to the daily functioning of the hospital kitchens by ensuring food is prepared, served, and cleaned in accordance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
The Food Service Worker position is essential in supporting patient experience and hospital operations by managing the setup of tray line workstations with accuracy and timeliness. Attention to safety, personal hygiene, and teamwork is vital in this position to help ensure that quality service standards are met consistently.
This is typically a part-time or full-time role, depending on staffing needs, and candidates with previous experience in food service within healthcare or institutional settings are preferred. The position provides an opportunity to work in a supportive environment that values employee contributions to patient well-being and hospital excellence. Food Service Workers play a critical role in supporting the clinical teams indirectly by enabling smooth and sanitary food delivery processes.
Candidates must obtain Food Handler's Certification within 14 days of hire and are encouraged to pursue the SafeServ Manager certification which is preferred and supersedes the Food Handler's certificate. This emphasis on certification underscores the hospital's commitment to the highest standards of food safety and employee preparedness. Prospective employees will find themselves part of a disciplined team focused on maintaining infection-free and safe patient food service procedures, while working in one of the leading healthcare institutions in the region.
