The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is essential for maintaining the high standards of food quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. This position involves assisting the manager with meal preparation, maintaining accurate cash receipts and meal records, and supporting the completion of daily reports. The Food Service Worker plays a critical role in ensuring food production complies with sanitation and kitchen safety practices while delivering meals on schedule. The role requires working under pressure efficiently, handling kitchen equipment with care, and ensuring that all food storage and preparation comply with hygiene regulations.

The responsibilities include preparing quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu, serving food based on meal schedules and department policies, and ensuring the presentation of food items meets customer expectations in taste and appearance. Coordination in major cleaning activities such as sanitizing refrigerators and cooking equipment is also part of the job, emphasizing a clean and safe working environment. Physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and prolonged standing may be expected and personal protective equipment is required as part of job safety compliance.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in food service preferred
  • ability to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • physical capability to meet job demands including lifting and standing for extended periods
  • effective communication skills
  • willingness to work flexible hours
  • adherence to uniform and PPE policies

Job Qualifications

  • Food service certificate as needed
  • sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • ability to work quickly and concisely under pressure

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • adhere to the uniform policy
  • connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • supervise the food temperature requirements
  • maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, duties include sweeping, moping, ware washing
  • maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
  • may require uniforms and/or usage of personal protective equipment (PPE)
