Food Service Worker (Central Kitchen)

The role of Food Service Worker within Ripon Unified School District is critical in supporting the nutritional needs of students by preparing and serving meals in school cafeterias. This position involves assisting in preparing school lunches, serving meals, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation within the cafeteria environment. Reporting to the Food Service Supervisor, the Food Service Worker helps ensure that students receive healthy and timely meals in a well-organized and safe setting. This role requires the ability to follow both written and verbal instructions, perform tasks independently without close supervision, and interact positively with children of all age groups. Physical demands include the ability to stand, walk, occasionally sit or climb, and lift or move loads up to 50 pounds using proper techniques. Working conditions may involve exposure to temperature extremes, moving mechanical parts, humidity, chemical fumes, and other environmental factors typical to a kitchen setting.

This position is part-time with up to 7 hours per day as scheduled by the supervisor, and compensation is aligned with the CFTA Salary Schedule Range 26.
