The role offered is focused on food service within the healthcare environment, which is essential to supporting both patient care and hospital operations. The position entails preparing, assembling, and delivering patient meals in strict accordance with quality, service, infection control, and food safety standards. Additionally, this role involves delivering stock supplies to patient floor kitchens and serving guests while maintaining excellent customer relations. The job requires replenishing food and supplies appropriately, completing sanitation duties, and performing dishroom tasks daily. The individual will collect payments for guest trays and handle food sales transactions in the cafeteria as a cashier, adhering to established policies and procedures. Beyond these tasks, the role also includes setting up and serving meals for corporate retail, catering, Doctors Dining Room, and other dining outlets. Decorating buffet and reception tables as assigned is another important responsibility.

This position plays a multifaceted role in ensuring safety, comfort, and overall satisfaction for patients and guests by upholding all aspects of high-quality food preparation and service or supporting colleagues to achieve this standard. Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma, certificate of attendance, certificate of completion, GED, or equivalent training or experience required
  • food safety certification required within 90 days of job entry
  • excellent customer service skills required
  • proven excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • 2 years of experience in food and nutrition preferred
