This particular role is essential in maintaining the quality and efficiency of patient meal services and related food operations within the Baptist Health system. The role involves preparing, assembling, and delivering patient meals in compliance with strict quality, service, infection control, and food safety standards. The position also includes delivering stock supplies to patient floor kitchens, serving guests while maintaining positive customer and guest relations, replenishing used foods and supplies, and completing sanitation duties. Daily dish room tasks and managing payment collection for guest trays are also part of the duties. Additionally, the role may involve cashiering in the cafeteria according to policies, setting up and serving meals for corporate retail and catering events, decorating buffet and reception tables, and supporting coworkers in their food preparation and service responsibilities.

This multifaceted role directly contributes to the comfort, safety, and overall satisfaction of patients and guests, making it a vital part of the Baptist Health team. The position offers an estimated hourly pay range of $16.00 to $19.49, depending on experience. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, certificate of attendance, certificate of completion, GED, or equivalent training or experience required
  • Food safety certification required within 90 days of job entry
  • Excellent customer service skills required
  • Proven excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in food and nutrition roles preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare, assemble and deliver patient meals in accordance with quality, service, infection control, and food safety standards
  • Deliver stock supplies to the patient floor kitchens
  • Serve guests, maintaining positive customer/guest relations
  • Appropriately replenish used foods and supplies
  • Complete sanitation duties
  • Perform dish room duties as assigned, daily
  • Collect payments for guest trays
  • Handle transactions for food sales in the cafeteria as a cashier in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Set up and serve meals for corporate retail, catering, Doctors Dining Room, and other dining outlets
  • Decorate buffet and reception tables as assigned
