Job Description

Baptist Health is the largest not-for-profit healthcare organization in the region, serving the diverse populations of Miami-Dade, Monroe, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. With an expansive network that includes 12 hospitals, over 29,000 dedicated employees, 4,500 physicians, and approximately 200 outpatient centers, urgent care facilities, and physician practices, Baptist Health stands as a premier institution in healthcare delivery. This extensive reach enables the organization to provide outstanding medical care across multiple specialties with particular emphasis on cancer, cardiovascular care, orthopedics and sports medicine, and neurosciences. Baptist Health's outstanding commitment has been recognized repeatedly, including 26 consecutive years on Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For list and prominent accolades in the 2025-2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Hospital Rankings, where it earned 63 high-performing honors, making it the most awarded healthcare system in South Florida.

What truly distinguishes Baptist Health is its steadfast emphasis on its people—both the dedicated team members and the patients they serve. The organization fosters a culture of compassion and excellence, ensuring that every staff member not only provides high-quality care but also builds meaningful, personal connections with patients and colleagues. This culture is deeply rooted in a faith-based mission and driven by a collective commitment to improving patients' quality of life. The organization's 'grow our own' philosophy supports employees' professional development through career growth opportunities, comprehensive health and wellness resources, tuition reimbursement, and wellness programs aimed at reducing healthcare costs. This commitment ensures that employees are nurtured throughout their careers while positively impacting the communities they serve.

The Food Service Worker role at Baptist Health is a vital part of the patient care experience, blending service excellence with strict standards for food safety and quality. As a Food Service Worker, you will be responsible for preparing, assembling, and delivering patient meals aligned with quality, service, infection control, and food safety protocols. This role involves direct interaction with patients and guests, necessitating exceptional customer service skills and the ability to maintain positive relationships. The role extends to various food service settings within Baptist Health’s network, including patient floor kitchens, cafeteria operations, corporate retail venues, catering, and staff dining areas such as the Doctors Dining Room.

In addition to food preparation and delivery, the position requires performing sanitation duties, handling financial transactions as a cashier for food sales, and supporting buffet and reception table setups. Candidates in this role must be able to work independently, cross-train in diverse food service responsibilities, and assist in training new team members to uphold Baptist Health’s high standards. The estimated pay range for this position is $16.00 to $19.49 per hour, dependent on experience. This opportunity offers a chance to contribute to a leading healthcare institution while building a rewarding career backed by excellent benefits, training, and growth potential.
