Job Description

Miramar Cultural Center is a prominent cultural hub located in the City of Miramar, known for hosting a diverse range of performances and events that celebrate the arts and community engagement. This establishment plays a vital role in enriching the community's cultural experiences by offering a platform for theatrical shows, concerts, and other artistic presentations. As a well-respected institution, the Miramar Cultural Center attracts a broad audience, including residents and visitors who appreciate high-quality entertainment and cultural activities. It operates within a dynamic and vibrant environment that prioritizes inclusivity, creativity, and audience satisfaction. The Center is committed to providing memorable experiences through its events and facilities, ensuring that each visitor enjoys exceptional service and hospitality throughout their time at the venue.

Currently, the Miramar Cultural Center is seeking an on-call, as-needed Bartender to support its theatre operations. This role offers a unique opportunity for energetic and professional individuals to contribute to the Center's event success by delivering excellent beverage service to patrons. The position is hourly paid at $15.87 and does not include employment benefits, making it ideal for those seeking flexible work arrangements in a dynamic cultural setting. The bartender’s responsibilities include preparing and serving classic cocktails and innovative drinks while maintaining a high standard of customer interaction.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and the ability to engage positively with guests, ensuring their preferences and needs are met efficiently. Bartenders will be expected to follow strict cash handling protocols and comply with all applicable food and beverage regulations to maintain safety and quality standards. Additionally, the role involves interacting with event patrons, taking orders, managing sales queries, and serving appetizers or hors d'oeuvres as required.

This position involves physical demands such as standing for long periods and handling objects weighing up to 25 pounds, alongside cognitive abilities like mental acuity and attention to detail. Candidates should be prepared to work in a dynamic environment that demands adaptability and responsiveness to changing priorities and conditions. Given the nature of the work involves public gatherings and food service, the City of Miramar requires employees to be considered emergency service workers during disaster situations, such as hurricanes, obligating them to perform emergency service duties when called upon.

Preferred qualifications include bilingual ability (Spanish or other foreign languages), prior experience in food and beverage or similar industries, knowledge of food hygiene regulations, cash handling skills, and basic computer literacy. Although this role does not provide city benefits, it offers a valuable opportunity for those interested in flexible, event-driven work at a reputable cultural venue. Joining the Miramar Cultural Center team means contributing to a vibrant cultural community while honing your skills in a professional, engaging environment.
