The center hosts a variety of events including theatrical performances, cultural exhibitions, and community gatherings, serving as an important hub for local residents and visitors to engage in enriching cultural experiences. Known for its vibrant programming and commitment to fostering the arts, Miramar Cultural Center offers a dynamic environment for those passionate about event management and the hospitality sector. This is an AS NEEDED, on-call position supporting operations at the Miramar Cultural Center Theatre, offering flexible working hours without the provision of benefits. The current hourly rate for the Bartender role is $15.87.
The role of the Bartender at Miramar Cultural Center is vital in enhancing guest experiences during events and performances. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving classical cocktails as well as innovative beverage options to patrons. This position requires a professional demeanor and high energy to engage with customers effectively, ensuring that their preferences are understood and met while maintaining compliance with all relevant food and beverage regulations. Bartenders will also be expected to manage cash transactions accurately and promptly handle any guest inquiries related to sales. Additionally, given the nature of the job, candidates should be comfortable working in an outdoor environment where they may be exposed to various weather conditions. Being bilingual, especially in Spanish or another foreign language, is considered a plus, enhancing communication with a broader range of event attendees. Knowledge of food hygiene regulations, cash handling procedures, and basic computer literacy are preferred qualifications to support efficient and safe service delivery. Furthermore, the role also entails emergency management responsibilities, as all City of Miramar employees are classified as emergency service workers during disaster scenarios such as hurricanes or other emergencies.
