Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to perform tasks with several steps in sequence
  • Availability to work at least three shifts per week
  • Ability to obtain Hawaii Food Handlers Certificate within first 14 days of employment
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 45 lbs independently and assist with heavier items
  • Willingness to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Commitment to uphold EEO principles and workplace safety
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • Skill to perform tasks with several steps and use judgment in the performance of sequential tasks
  • Skill to serve uniform individual portions and to avoid distractions
  • Skill to perform simple arithmetic
  • Ability to read and follow instructions
  • Working knowledge of common sanitation procedures to prevent contamination and perform work according to established safety guidelines
  • Ability to uphold a high level of impeccable hygiene
  • Ability to obtain a Hawaii Food Handlers Certificate within first 14 days to meet training requirements
  • Must be available to work at least three shifts in a work week

Job Duties

  • Perform tasks with several steps or sequences such as setting up food service counters and side service stands with hot and cold food and beverages including desserts and condiments
  • Assist customers in the selection and purchase of specialty coffee beverages and whole bean sales
  • Provide quality beverages such as espresso drinks, Coffee of the Week, Whole Bean, and food products consistent with established recipe and presentation standards
  • Use suggestive selling techniques to sell associated products
  • Serve food and beverages
  • Make coffee in large urns according to the number of servings desired with responsibility for timing and brewing
  • Properly clean dishwasher, associated appliances, and maintain customer service area and equipment in a clean and appealing manner
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment according to established checklists and schedules
  • Follow store policies and procedures for operational flow
  • Adhere to established standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating, and storing all products
  • Operate cash register and be responsible for own changes
  • Complete prescribed training
  • Provide world class customer service with an emphasis on courtesy
  • Assist customers and communicate positively in a friendly manner
  • Acknowledge customers, smile and make eye contact
  • Ask questions to determine, verify and solve problems
  • Check for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services
  • Take action to solve problems quickly
  • Alert the higher-level supervisor or proper point of contact for help when problems arise
  • Adhere to safety regulations and standards
  • Observe established sanitation guidelines for all products
  • Use required safety equipment and observe safe work procedures
  • Promptly report any workplace hazards, injury, occupational illness, or property damage to the immediate supervisor
  • Adhere to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment
  • Perform other related duties as required
