The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is vital to delivering high-quality food services in a hygienic, efficient, and customer-focused manner. In this role, the Food Service Worker assists the manager with meal preparation and maintaining accurate cash receipts and meal records. This hands-on position demands excellent attention to detail to ensure all food production meets quality standards, as well as compliance with strict sanitation and kitchen safety protocols. The worker is also responsible for assisting the manager with daily reports, demonstrating organizational skills and reliability.

The position is dynamic, requiring someone comfortable working under pressure to prepare a variety of food items with timely execution, maintain cleanliness in food preparation and storage areas, and adhere to company policies consistently. This includes handling kitchen equipment properly, ensuring meals are served according to schedules, and maintaining waste management areas neat and sanitary. The role requires physical stamina, as it involves lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking. Additionally, the worker may need to wear personal protective equipment and uniforms for safety and compliance.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in food service preferred
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic math skills for cash handling
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to follow safety and hygiene regulations
  • Willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment

Job Qualifications

  • Food service certificate as needed
  • Sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to work quickly and concisely under pressure

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • Understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages
  • Add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • Adhere to the uniform policy
  • Connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • Supervise the food temperature requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
  • Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • May involve physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
  • May require uniforms and/or usage of personal protective equipment (PPE).
