The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is a vital position that supports the daily operations of meal and food preparation under the guidance of a manager. Food Service Workers are responsible for the preparation of quality food and baked goods in accordance with predetermined menus, consistent with the restaurant or food outlet’s standards. They assist the manager in maintaining accurate cash receipts and meal records and help complete daily reports to verify transactions. The role emphasizes strict adherence to food safety regulations including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
Workers will use and care for kitchen equipment, including knives, and manage timely preparation of various food items and beverages, ensuring each meal is served attractively and meets quality standards. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience in food service or related field beneficial
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Must be able to lift, bend, push, and pull as required
- Willingness to follow safety and hygiene protocols
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
- Must adhere to company uniform and personal protective equipment policies
Job Qualifications
- Food service certificate as needed
- Sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to work quickly and concisely under pressure
Job Duties
- Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
- Understand what is inclusive of a meal
- Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
- Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
- Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
- Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
- Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
- Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
- Adhere to the uniform policy
- Connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
- Supervise the food temperature requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
- Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
- Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness to ensure a balanced and safe environment including sweeping, moping, ware washing
- Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
- Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
- Comply with physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking and standing
- Use uniforms and personal protective equipment when required
