The Food Service Worker at Aramark plays a key role in assisting with food and meal preparation, maintaining accurate cash receipts and meal records, and supporting the manager in compiling daily reports. This position is essential in ensuring that all food production adheres to high standards of quality, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices. The role involves a variety of responsibilities such as preparing quality food and baked goods in accordance with planned menus, verifying transactions through daily reports, ensuring proper and sanitary food storage, and serving meals in alignment with scheduled times and department policies. Additionally, the Food Service Worker is responsible for the careful use and maintenance of kitchen equipment, including knives, and must work efficiently to prepare diverse food items and beverages on time.
This position places great emphasis on maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen and storage areas. Duties include the thorough cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, cooking and serving equipment, as well as maintaining garbage collection sites and floors in a sanitary condition. The Food Service Worker must rigorously adhere to food safety regulations concerning sanitation, handling, and storage, and must also comply with the company’s uniform policies. Continuous communication with the manager is required to understand daily menu requirements and ensure foods are prepared accurately and presented appealingly, often adding garnishments to enhance the customer experience.
The role demands physical stamina as it may involve lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking, and standing for prolonged periods. Employees may be required to wear uniforms and use personal protective equipment as part of their safety protocols. Job Duties
- Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
- Understand what is inclusive of a meal
- Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
- Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
- Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
- Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
- Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
- Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
- Adhere to the uniform policy
- Connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
- Supervise the food temperature requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
- Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
- Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness to ensure a balanced and safe environment
- Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
- Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
- Meet physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and extended walking and standing
- Wear uniforms and personal protective equipment as required
