The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is an essential position within the food service team, supporting the preparation and delivery of high-quality meals while adhering to safety, sanitation, and operational standards. This full-time role involves assisting managers with food and meal preparation, maintaining cash receipts and meal records, and helping complete daily reports. The Food Service Worker ensures that food production meets the highest standards of quality and that all kitchen activities comply with safety and sanitation regulations.
Key responsibilities include preparing quality food and baked goods following planned menus, accurately storing food to maintain freshness and safety, serving food in line with departmental policies and meal schedules, and caring for kitchen equipment with special attention to safety when handling knives. The role also entails coordinating and assisting with major cleaning tasks, maintaining organized and sanitary work areas, and overseeing food temperature requirements to ensure compliance with health standards. Communication with the manager is daily; to understand daily menus and execute tasks efficiently, all while promoting a positive customer experience through visually appealing garnishments and timely food preparation.
The job requires physical stamina, as it includes lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing. Employees are expected to adhere strictly to uniform policies and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. This role demands the ability to work quickly and concisely under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality. Job Duties
- Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
- Understand what is inclusive of a meal
- Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
- Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
- Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
- Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
