The Food Service Worker role at Aramark involves assisting the manager in food and meal preparation by ensuring quality standards in food production, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices. The position is hourly paid at a rate of $18.60 and is designed to maintain high standards in meal preparation and service, including maintaining cash receipts, meal records, and completing daily transaction reports. The Food Service Worker will prepare a variety of food and baked goods based on planned menus, ensuring food is stored and served safely and hygienically. This role requires coordination with the manager daily to accurately prepare meals and guarantee proper food temperature standards. Additionally, the role includes responsibilities such as cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment and maintaining an organized workspace to meet all food safety regulations. This position demands physical activity including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods, and adherence to uniform and personal protective equipment policies. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous food service experience preferred
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation
- Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment
- Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Food Service Certificate as needed
- Sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to work quickly and concisely under pressure
Job Duties
- Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
- Understand what is inclusive of a meal
- Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
- Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
- Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
- Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
- Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
- Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
- Adhere to the uniform policy
- Connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
- Supervise the food temperature requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
- Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
- Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness to ensure a balanced and safe environment
- Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
- Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
- Adhere to physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
- Use uniforms and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
