The main responsibilities revolve around assembling patient meal trays in compliance with patient menus and dietary specifications, adhering strictly to Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HAACP) guidelines to ensure food safety and hygiene. The role requires punctuality with adherence to the scheduled work hours, professional appearance including uniform and ID badge, as well as active participation in ongoing education and departmental meetings to maintain the highest standards of service quality.
The employee in this position is expected to work collaboratively with nursing staff, clinical dietitians, and other hospital personnel to facilitate excellent patient care through effective communication and precise execution of assigned duties. This position also involves compliance with infection control policies and other hospital-wide performance standards and policies. Job Duties
- Adheres to WPH performance standards, policies and behaviors
- punches in/out as required based on assigned work schedule
- reports to work area ready to work in uniform, appropriate shoes, and visible identification badge according to policy
- demonstrates/articulates an understanding of responsibilities of the assigned positions
- verbalizes and applies knowledge of current department policies and procedures
- attends staff meeting, in-service or equivalent to update knowledge related to current department/hospital issues as required or requested
- responsible for completing annual department/hospital competency and educational requirements
- assembles trays according to patient menu on tray ticket and retrieves trays from patients’ rooms
- follows hazard analysis critical control point (HAACP) guidelines when handling food and when cleaning workstations and breaking down patient tray line
- follows facility and department infection control policies and procedures
- communicates with nursing departments, clinical dietitians, and other personnel to provide excellent patient services
- performs all other related duties as assigned
