The Food Service Worker role at Waterview Hills Campus represents an exciting opportunity for individuals seeking to jumpstart a healthcare career in a friendly and beautiful setting. Offering both full-time (40 hours per week) and part-time (19 hours per week) positions, this role is designed to accommodate a variety of schedules and lifestyle needs. Importantly, no previous experience is necessary, making it a great entry point for those interested in healthcare and food service roles. The primary responsibility of the Food Service Worker is to ensure that all residents receive their meals and snacks in a safe, sanitary, and timely manner. The position involves preparing cold and hot food and beverages according to prescribed diets and recipes, serving meals in the main dining room or delivering trays to residents, and taking inventory and restocking nursing unit pantries. Workers must adhere to all facility policies, including handling food safely and maintaining cleanliness throughout the kitchen and dining areas. Other duties include washing dishes, following break and service schedules, and complying with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements. The role requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to work under pressure, and strong customer service focus. Job Duties

  • Proper in kitchen preparation and cleaning in regard to the station assigned to you
  • Adhering to all assigned break times and service times
  • Completing all tasks assigned according to given job duty for every shift, which may include washing dishes
  • Preparing cold and hot food and beverage items in accordance with diets and recipes
  • Serving resident tray line and main dining room and/or assembling trays according to prescribed diets
  • Taking inventory and delivering prepared nourishments to nursing unit pantries at designated times for residents' use
  • Handling food in a safe manner
  • Delivering and retrieving food carts to all nursing units during meal service
  • Keeping work area, equipment, and surroundings clean and sanitized
  • Sweeping, mopping and removal of garbage from all food service areas and staff dining room
  • Knowledge of handling knives and small kitchen equipment, following established safety guidelines and departmental policies
  • Must have knowledge of all chemicals used in department
  • Providing excellent and responsible customer service to residents and all other members of the facility
  • Maintaining attendance record in accordance with facilities standards
  • Observing safe, economical and proper use of equipment and supplies
  • Ensuring all HIPAA requirements are adhered to
  • Adhering to all facility and department policies and procedures
  • Performing other related duties as required and assigned
