The Food Service Worker position involves a range of responsibilities critical to maintaining efficient and safe food service operations at school cafeterias. Responsibilities include food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables, as well as weighing and measuring ingredients according to prescribed recipes. The role requires safe handling and transportation of food items and equipment between stations, stoves, and refrigeration units. Proper storage of food with careful attention to wrapping, dating, and rotation is essential to ensure quality and comply with food safety standards. Cleaning and sanitizing workspaces, utensils, and equipment are daily tasks that uphold hygiene and safety protocols. The Food Service Worker also distributes supplies and portable equipment needed for smooth operations.
Serving students and school staff in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner is a core part of this role. The worker helps ensure that food is served at appropriate temperatures and in standard portions, enhancing both quality and customer satisfaction. Job Requirements
