This particular role is a part-time Food Service Worker position within a correctional setting. The role requires availability primarily on Fridays through Sundays from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with additional hours on Mondays from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to work some weekends and holidays, including Fridays through Sundays from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and Mondays from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm
  • Physical ability to perform duties including lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking and standing for extended periods
  • Strong commitment to food safety regulations and sanitation practices
  • Dependable and flexible work ethic

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience
  • Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience is a plus

Job Duties

  • Prepare and assist team members in the preparation of quality foods according to the planned menu, recipes, and work instructions in a timely manner
  • Clean as you go, maintain a neat and food safe workstation, pull trash, sweep, mop, and perform other assigned duties within the facility
  • Serve food during planned meal schedules and according to department policies and procedures
  • Utilize kitchen utensils and equipment to cook, prepare and serve food according to recipes and meet clients' nutritional needs
  • Abide by all food safety regulations pertaining to sanitation, food handling and storage
  • Maintain a clean work area and environment, including cleaning refrigerators, freezers, cooking equipment, and serving equipment
  • Function in a fast-paced environment, perform routine kitchen tasks while being organized and clean
  • Keep up with garbage collection and keep kitchen floors clean from excess food and trash
  • Perform physical duties such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking and standing for extended periods
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
