The Food Service Worker role at RWJUH Hamilton Hospital is an essential hourly position focusing on supporting the dietary management department. Typically scheduled to work the evening shift, this part-time role offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $15.97 to $18.35, tailored based on the candidate's education, skills, and experience. The Food Service Worker performs vital tasks such as loading and transporting food trucks throughout the hospital, washing dishes, removing garbage, and maintaining the overall cleanliness and sanitation of the dietary department. In this role, the Food Service Worker is responsible for efficient delivery of par stocks to designated floors, timely pick-up and delivery of patient food trucks after meals, restocking necessary items including pellets, plates, bowls, and domes, and sanitizing all used kitchenware including pots, pans, and utensils. The position also requires waste management responsibilities such as removing garbage, replacing liners, sanitizing garbage cans, and ensuring dumpsters are cleaned daily. Maintaining cleanliness extends to sweeping and mopping floors in the entire department, including moving equipment on wheels to thoroughly sanitize areas beneath. This ensures compliance with hospital sanitation standards vital for patient safety.
