The Food Service Worker role at RWJUH Hamilton Hospital is an essential hourly position focusing on supporting the dietary management department. In this role, the Food Service Worker is responsible for efficient delivery of par stocks to designated floors, timely pick-up and delivery of patient food trucks after meals, restocking necessary items including pellets, plates, bowls, and domes, and sanitizing all used kitchenware including pots, pans, and utensils. The position also requires waste management responsibilities such as removing garbage, replacing liners, sanitizing garbage cans, and ensuring dumpsters are cleaned daily. Maintaining cleanliness extends to sweeping and mopping floors in the entire department, including moving equipment on wheels to thoroughly sanitize areas beneath. This ensures compliance with hospital sanitation standards vital for patient safety.

- Ability to work part time day shift
- Physical ability to perform cleaning and food transport duties

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Delivers par stocks to designated floors
- Delivers and picks up all patient food trucks after breakfast, lunch and dinner meal service
- Transports food trucks with soiled trays from patient floors to dish room
- Patient food carts are returned to designated floors in a timely manner
- Restocks all pellets, plates, bowls and domes
- Soaks, washes, rinses, sanitizes, and stores all pots, pans, and utensils used in food preparation or service
- Removes all garbage from the department as needed and places clean liners in garbage cans
- Cleans and sanitizes cans as needed
- Garbage dumpsters are cleaned and sanitized daily
- Sweeps and mops floors in the entire department, including under all equipment and moving any equipment with wheels to ensure proper sanitation of the floor
